Learning Matters, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit production company founded by veteran correspondent John Merrow in 1995, after his extensive career as a teacher and broadcaster with NPR and PBS. Focused on education, Learning Matters currently produces documentaries for PBS and education segments for PBSNewsHour.
Our mission is to use media to encourage and enrich public dialogue about education, youth and families, and we fulfill that mission in part by making our programming available to stream on www.learningmatters.tv and for purchase here.
The quality of our work has been distinguished by two George Foster Peabody Awards, the George Polk Award, three News and Documentary Emmy nominations, four Ciné Golden Eagles, four Hugo Television awards, and dozens of prizes from the Education Writers Association.
